These terms cover your use of the MyShare mobile app and the shared receipt pages at myshareapp.net. By using MyShare you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. MyShare is an independent project run by its developers in Lebanon; you can reach us at parallelsystemslb@gmail.com.
What MyShare does
MyShare reads the items and prices from a photo of a receipt, lets you split them among a group, and gives you a link you can share so everyone can pick what they had. It is a convenience tool for working out who owes what. It does not settle bills for you: it never holds money or transfers funds between you and anyone you are splitting with.
No account needed
MyShare currently has no sign-up. Anyone holding a receipt link can open it and see the items on it, so only share links with people you intend to see the receipt. Shared receipts are deleted automatically 30 days after they are created, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for what you upload and share, and for having the right to share it.
- Don't use MyShare for anything unlawful, or to upload content that is abusive, infringing, or contains other people's personal information you have no right to share.
- Don't attempt to break, overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the service, or use it in a way that interferes with anyone else's use.
Accuracy
MyShare reads receipts automatically, and automatic text recognition makes mistakes. Items, prices, quantities, totals, and currency conversions may be wrong. Exchange rates come from a third-party source and are indicative only, not a live financial rate. Always check the numbers before anyone pays. You are responsible for any settlement you make based on them.
Ads and paid features
MyShare is free to use and supported by advertising. Shared receipt pages show ads served by Google. We don't control which ads appear and don't endorse the products in them. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.
We plan to introduce optional paid features, such as a premium tier that removes ads and lifts usage limits, along with the accounts needed to use them. Any purchase will be handled by the app stores or a payment provider, under their terms as well as these. We will publish the pricing and any usage limits before charging for anything, and using MyShare today does not commit you to paying for it later.
Availability and changes
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of MyShare at any time, including moving features between the free and paid tiers, and we may remove a shared receipt without notice if we believe it breaches these terms. We don't guarantee the service will be available or uninterrupted, and we don't guarantee that a share link will remain reachable for any particular period beyond the retention window described above.
Provided as-is
MyShare is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from incorrect amounts, lost or deleted receipts, or unavailability of the service.
Intellectual property
The MyShare name, app, and website are ours. The receipt content you upload remains yours; you give us permission to store and display it for the purpose of providing the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and the courts of Lebanon have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as MyShare changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and continuing to use MyShare after a change means you accept it.
