These terms cover your use of the MyShare mobile app and the shared receipt pages at myshareapp.net. By using MyShare you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service. MyShare is an independent project run by its developers in Lebanon; you can reach us at parallelsystemslb@gmail.com.

What MyShare does

MyShare reads the items and prices from a photo of a receipt, lets you split them among a group, and gives you a link you can share so everyone can pick what they had. Receipts are read by an AI service rather than on your phone, which is described in our Privacy Policy. MyShare is a convenience tool for working out who owes what. It does not settle bills for you: it never holds money or transfers funds between you and anyone you are splitting with.

No account needed

MyShare has no sign-up for normal use, and opening a receipt link never requires one. Anyone holding a receipt link can open it and see the items on it, so only share links with people you intend to see the receipt. Receipt links are kept rather than deleted on a schedule — see Receipt links below.

Creating an account is optional and earns you a one-off bonus of free scans. It also carries your scans and any subscription to a new phone. An account is required only if you choose to subscribe.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for what you upload and share, and for having the right to share it.
Don't use MyShare for anything unlawful, or to upload content that is abusive, infringing, or contains other people's personal information you have no right to share.
Don't attempt to break, overload, scrape, or reverse engineer the service, or use it in a way that interferes with anyone else's use.
Don't try to get around the scanning limits — for example by automating scans, faking ad views, or resetting your device to reclaim a one-time allowance. Scanning costs us money per receipt, and we may limit or suspend access that is clearly doing this.

Accuracy

MyShare reads receipts automatically, and automatic reading makes mistakes. Items, prices, quantities, totals, and currency conversions may be wrong, and the AI service that reads a receipt may misread it or occasionally invent a line that isn't on it. Exchange rates come from a third-party source and are indicative only, not a live financial rate. Always check the numbers before anyone pays. You are responsible for any settlement you make based on them.

Scanning limits

Scanning is limited. A new install gets a number of free scans, and after those there is a monthly allowance. When it runs out you can watch a rewarded ad to earn another scan, or subscribe. The current numbers are shown in the app.

We may change these limits, including after you have installed the app. They are set to keep the free version sustainable, not to force a purchase, and the free version will remain usable without paying. Subscriptions include a fair-use limit, which exists to stop a shared or automated account, not to restrict ordinary use.

A rewarded ad grants a scan once it has been verified with the ad provider, and credits earned this way are limited in number and expire if unused. If an ad fails to complete or cannot be verified, no scan is granted.

Receipt links

A receipt link you create is intended to keep working, because you have already sent it to other people. We do not delete receipts on a schedule. After a period a receipt stops accepting changes and becomes a read-only record of how the bill was split, but the link continues to open.

We may still remove a receipt without notice if we believe it breaches these terms, and you can ask us to delete one of yours at any time by emailing us the link.

Ads and paid features

MyShare is free to use and supported by advertising. Shared receipt pages show ads served by Google. In the app, some ads appear at natural break points such as after you share a bill, and others are videos you choose to watch in exchange for an extra scan. We don't control which ads appear and don't endorse the products in them. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising data is handled.

A paid subscription removes ads for you, removes ads from the receipt links you create, and lifts the scanning limits. The price, billing period, and renewal terms are shown before you purchase and are handled by the App Store or Google Play under their terms as well as these. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you cancel or request a refund through the store you bought from, not through us. If a subscription lapses, the app returns to the free version and nothing you have already created is lost.

Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of MyShare at any time, including moving features between the free and paid tiers. We don't guarantee the service will be available or uninterrupted. Scanning depends on a third-party AI service and will not work without an internet connection or while that service is unavailable.

Provided as-is

MyShare is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from incorrect amounts, lost or deleted receipts, or unavailability of the service.

Intellectual property

The MyShare name, app, and website are ours. The receipt content you upload remains yours; you give us permission to store and display it for the purpose of providing the service, and to send receipt images to the AI service that reads them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Lebanon, and the courts of Lebanon have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as MyShare changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version, and continuing to use MyShare after a change means you accept it.
