Privacy Policy

This policy describes how MyShare ("we", "us") handles information in the MyShare mobile app and on shared receipt pages served from myshareapp.net. MyShare is an independent project run by its developers in Lebanon. You can reach us at parallelsystemslb@gmail.com.

What we collect

• Receipt data. When you generate a share link, the item names, prices, and quantities from your receipt are stored on our servers (Google Firebase, in the European Union) so the link can be viewed by the people you share it with. Photos of receipts are read on your device and are never uploaded to us.
• Advertising data. Ads appear only on the shared receipt pages you generate — the myshareapp.net/r/… links you send to your group. They are served by Google AdSense, and Google may collect your IP address, device information, and usage signals to serve and measure them, as described in Google's advertising policies. We plan to add ads inside the MyShare app (Google AdMob) in a future release; this policy will be updated before that happens.
• Technical logs. Our servers record standard request information such as IP address and timestamps, which is used to operate the service and prevent abuse.

What we don't collect

MyShare currently has no user accounts. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, or precise location, and we do not currently use analytics or crash-reporting tools. We never sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone beyond the service providers described below.

Features we're working on

MyShare is actively being developed, and some planned features will involve information we don't handle today:

• Optional accounts and a paid tier. We plan to offer a premium version that removes ads and lifts usage limits. That will require an account and payment handling, which will be processed by the app stores or a payment provider rather than by us.
• Quality and reliability data. To improve receipt scanning we plan to measure how often scans succeed or need retrying, and to occasionally ask whether a scan came out right. The aim is aggregate accuracy data, not tracking individuals.

None of this is active yet. We will update this policy, and ask for your consent where the law requires it, before collecting anything new. The date at the top tells you which version is current.

Camera

The app asks for camera access so you can photograph a receipt. Text is extracted from the photo on your device. The photo itself stays on your device.

What's stored on your device

The app stores a cached list of currency exchange rates and your light or dark theme preference. This never leaves your device and contains nothing personal.

Advertising and cookies

Ads keep MyShare free to use. They are shown only on shared receipt pages; this site's home, privacy, and terms pages carry no advertising. Shared receipt pages may use cookies set by Google to serve and measure ads. You can review how Google uses information from sites that use its services and adjust your preferences at Google Ad Settings.

In regions where consent is required, including the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you will be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown. You can decline and still use MyShare; you will see non-personalized ads instead.

How long we keep receipts

Shared receipts are deleted automatically 30 days after they are created. Once a receipt is deleted its share link stops working and the data is gone from our servers. If you want a receipt removed sooner, email us the link and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because MyShare has no accounts, the receipt link is the only way we can identify your data. Email us at parallelsystemslb@gmail.com with a link and we can delete it or tell you what it contains. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Service providers

We use Google Firebase to host the service and store shared receipts, and Google AdSense to serve ads. Exchange rates are fetched from a public currency data provider. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms.

Children

MyShare is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has shared information with us, email us and we will remove it.

Changes

We may update this policy as MyShare changes. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
